Biography

Ragland Thomas Gamaliel serves as the Associate Professor of Practice at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS). He holds a PhD in Business from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, and an MSc in International HRM from Cranfield University, UK. His academic qualifications include an MA in Social Work from Madras School of Social Work, India, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Joseph’s College, India. Dr. Ragland Gamaliel has completed several professional development programs: the Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University, USA; the Advanced Certificate in Strategic HR Management from Cornell University, USA; Emotional Intelligence Certification Program from MHS, Canada; the Marshal Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching Program, India; the Executive Development Program in Strategic Performance Management from XLRI, India, and the Organization Development Certification Program from the Institute of Organization Development, USA. 

Dr. Ragland Gamaliel brings a unique blend of industry and academic experiences. He has held teaching and academic leadership roles in leading educational institutions such as Swinburne University of Technology, Australia; University of Newcastle, Australia; Australian Institute of Business, Australia; Canterbury Institute of Management, Australia; Institute of Organization Effectiveness, India, Institute of Organization Development, USA and Woxsen University, India. His corporate experience includes leadership roles in global organizations such as Shell, Amazon, Zenta, HSBC, iGate, GE Capital, Visteon, and Rane Engine Valves. He has served in a range of corporate roles from heading the entire Human Resources function to leading Organization Development, Learning, Consulting, and Recruitment functions.

His teaching interests include Organization Behavior and Development, Human Resource Management, Emotional Intelligence, Culture, Leadership and Strategic Management. His research interests focus on Culture, Leadership, and Generations. Dr. Ragland Gamaliel has taught both experienced professionals and student scholars. He has taught student cohorts in the BBA, MBA and MHRM programs in Australia and India. The courses include Human Resources Management, International Human Resources Management, Strategic Management, Cross Cultural Management, Business Communication, Leadership and Organization Behavior. He has facilitated several Management Development Programs for experienced professionals from frontline executives to CXO level leaders on topics such as Organization Development, Talent Management, Executive Coaching, Leadership Development, Emotional Intelligence and Personal Effectiveness.
