Biography

Dr. Finita Glory Roy is an accomplished Associate Professor at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, OP Jindal Global University, Haryana, India. With over 30 years of experience in academia and school settings, she holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Science & Special Education coupled with a Master of Rehabilitation Science, Master of Psychology, Bachelor of Education, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management. Dr. Roy leads the Masters in Rehabilitation Science and Masters in Community Psychology programs, where she focuses on curriculum development, student mentorship, and securing research funding. Her academic role also includes interdisciplinary collaborations, community outreach, and providing expert consultations in the field of disability rehabilitation.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Roy served as an Educational Counsellor and Resource Specialist at Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School in Chennai. There, she developed individualized education programs and provided counseling services to support student achievement and well-being. During her tenure as Assistant Professor at the PG and Research Institute of Rehabilitation Science & Special Education at Holy Cross College, she taught and mentored students, designed curricula, supervised internships, and conducted field research.

Dr. Roy is a certified Rehabilitation Counsellor and a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India and a member of the All-India Psychologists Association. She has earned international certifications in healthcare education from Hogeschool Zyud University, The Netherlands. With a strong record of academic contributions, she has published and presented extensively on topics such as disability rehabilitation, accessibility, and interventions for individuals with special needs. Her research focuses on empowerment interventions, resilience strategies, and inclusive practices to promote social inclusion and well-being for diverse populations. Dr. Roy's work aims to bridge the gap between behavioral science and disability rehabilitation, fostering holistic development and inclusion.
