Biography

Dr. Angel Selvaraj is a distinguished educator, researcher, and clinician with over a decade of experience in higher education and the field of rehabilitation. Her academic journey began with top honors in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, fueled by a deep commitment to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. She holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science, with her research focused on enhancing social skills in children with autism.

Dr. Selvaraj's extensive experience includes psychological assessment, counselling, and intervention, particularly with children who have special needs. She received advanced training at the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), where she honed her expertise in psychological evaluation and therapeutic support. Certified as an Innovation Ambassador by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, Dr. Selvaraj has also cleared the TNSET in Psychology and UGC-NET in Education, demonstrating her academic and professional excellence.

Her teaching career spans roles at prestigious institutions, including her current position where she handles courses in Rehabilitation Science and Psychosocial Rehabilitation. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Selvaraj is an active researcher, with her work recognized at both national and international levels. She has led significant projects, such as the Ministry of Youth Affairs-funded initiative on "Training Young Women Talents in Innovation and Entrepreneurship."

Driven by a passion for community engagement, Dr. Selvaraj regularly contributes as a resource person for training programs and outreach initiatives, continuing her mission to support and empower individuals with disabilities.
