The Awareness for Community Transformation (ACT) Clinic is a flagship initiative of the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), O.P. Jindal Global University. It brings together the disciplines of law, psychology, and community rehabilitation to bridge the gap between systemic inequity and individual well-being. Founded to address the rising need for accessible psychosocial and legal support in India, the Clinic represents JIBS’ commitment to social justice, mental health advocacy, and evidence-based policy reform. To promote a society grounded in justice, compassion, and equity, where mental health and legal support are recognized as universal rights. Providing pro-bono legal representation and awareness sessions for communities facing systemic barriers, focusing on gender-based violence, cybercrime, and workplace discrimination. Legal literacy and mental health workshops designed to educate, empower, and prevent. Themes include digital safety, child protection, and community well-being. Through partnerships with the One Stop Centre (Department of Women & Child Development, Haryana), Rocket Learning, and Spread Smile Foundation, the Clinic addresses interconnected legal and psychosocial challenges. ACT Clinic provides hands-on learning for JIBS students through direct community service, research, and outreach. Regular visits across Sonipat, Delhi, and Haryana villages including Dewra, Shahzadpur, Rai, and Kharkhoda. The Clinic’s research arm generates evidence-based insights into mental health, gender justice, and social systems. ACT fosters long-term relationships with alumni, civil society, and partner organizations committed to shared goals of social transformation.
