Training

  1. Teachers Training Programme
  • Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, a value-based research institute of O.P. Jindal Global University regularly organizes Teacher Training Programs (TTPs) at national and international level for school principals, teachers, parents, students, and career counselors on various behavioural and psychological areas such as performance enhancement, excellence in life, best teaching practices, stress management, emotional intelligence, among others. Our efforts to serve the nation builders is manifested in interdisciplinary, evidence-based Teachers Training Programs (TTPs). The outreach is implemented with a purpose to equip the school educators from the underserved and weaker sections of the society and beyond. We thus instil 21st-century skills and promote holistic wellbeing through a growth mindset. Our research-informed programs help educators sharpen their teaching skills and augment subject matter expertise. These programs cater to improved quality education and align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-4. Thus far, JIBS and its team of researchers have trained more than 219,676 teachers and school administrators in more than 7,982 schools across 25 countries. This includes training to more than a hundred thousand teachers in 28 states and union territories in India.

       2. Professional Development

 

  • Short Term Course
    • Our management development programmes cater to the needs of young and senior professionals in an emerging, modern workplace environment. Whether it is assessing the needs of the organization and its people or helping teams achieve effective communication, we provide a range of training programmes facilitated by leading experts in the field Our previous training programmes in Competency Mapping, Training Need Analysis, Stress and anxiety management, and Emotional Intelligence have been very well-received by the participants.
    • Some of our stakeholders include the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Power Grid Corporation, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and State Civil Services.

  • Competency Mapping
    • Competency mapping is the process of identifying key qualities and skills requirements of an organization, and using them for job evaluation, recruitment, training & development, performance, along with talent management and succession planning. This programme is designed to educate on various psychometric tests and other management tools, that can be used to understand the organizational strengths and where to reinforce with interventions, based on the assessment results, to optimize growth.
  • Stress & Anxiety Mangament
    • This programme offers a multidimensional approach towards understanding and managing work stress and anxiety. It provides insights into the symptoms of stress and anxiety and suggests strategies for navigating them in daily life. Overall, it aims to enhance one’s ability to identify and manage stress and anxiety in one’s professional and personal life.
  • Effective Communication
    • Through interactive activities, this training programme helps participants identify communication roadblocks and cultivate effective communication skills. By engaging in exercises focused on active listening, verbal and non-verbal communication, constructive feedback, this programme empowers participants develop essential skills for effective communication.
  • Emotional Intelligence
    • This training programme aims at uncovering the commonly misunderstood concept of emotional intelligence (EI) and its relevance for managing and enhancing performance. With a focus on practical applications, this programme helps participants understand the pervasive influence of EI across one’s personal and professional world. This programme also imparts some practical ways of enhancing EI.
  • Leadership & Stress Management for Senior Executives
    • This training programme aims to empower participants with essential behavioral skills for leadership development and stress management. It focuses on cultivating leadership skills as well as nurturing the emotional well-being of leaders. Few key components of this programme include enhancing emotional intelligence, practicing mindful leadership, and cultivating resilience.
  • Behavioural Skills for Success & Well-Being
    • This module focuses on behavioral skills that are essential for professional and personal development. It addresses several key areas for enhancing overall quality of life, including interpersonal mastery, effective time management, conflict resolution, leadership and personality development, to name a few. Through experiential exercises, participants learn practical strategies for enhancing these domains of their personal and professional life

      3. Community Outreach

  • Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) has been at the forefront of various pro bono community outreach and capacity building initiatives, striving to make a meaningful impact in society. Some of our ongoing initiatives include:
    • School & Community Visits
      • Both JIBS faculty and students regularly visit local schools and communities to raise awareness about various psycho-social issues. These initiatives focus on empowering youth and the local community.
        • “Friends or Foe”: A Discussion of Peer Pressure & Mental Health
          • This session was conducted by the student executives of the Center for Community Mental Health at JIBS, under the guidance of JIBS faculty. Through captivating presentations and real-life anecdotes, 85 enthusiastic students Swarnaprastha Public School (Sonipat) were sensitized to the nuances of peer pressure and its impact on mental well-being. The session culminated in empowering discussions on coping strategies and resources. Notably, pre-session and post-session questionnaires revealed a remarkable 7.1% increase in their mental health awareness levels.
        • Let’s Talk in Signs- JIBS
          • JIBS students have been playing a key role in promoting and accepting diversity and fostering inclusivity. Following this ideal, they learnt the National Anthem of India and English alphabets in Indian Sign Language and performed in the presence of specially abled children of Little Angels Inclusive School and Sanfort Special School, Sonipat. Further, with a view to spread the awareness among the wider student community, a poster having the caption “Let’s Talk in Signs” having alphabets of Indian Sign Language were displayed around JGU campus.
        • Awareness Session on Good Versus Bad Touch
          • This campaign was conducted by JIBS students under the able guidance of their faculty team at Sanfort Special School, Sonipat. This session aimed at empowering specially abled children by equipping them with the skills needed to differentiate between good and bad touch. The session concluded with a video and role-play that empowered children to vocalize their feelings and be assertive in potentially harmful situations. This campaign was a significant milestone in JIBS’ continuous efforts to create a safer environment for our children.
        • Awareness Programme on Stress & Anxiety Management
          • JIBS students, under the supervision of their faculty members, helped participants of Bright Scholar Senior Secondary School (Sonipat) uncover the meaning and nature of stress and anxiety, stress and anxiety related symptoms and strategies for stress and anxiety management. Through games, art, and expressions, the vision was to promote mental well-being, spread awareness, and share coping strategies. This interactive session helped participants gain insight into guided meditation, positive self-talk and affirmations, journaling and self-care.
        • Session for Domestic Workers of Swabhiman Kendra, Panipat
          • Diving into understanding and realizing mental well-being for all, students of JIBS celebrated World Mental Health Day 2023 alongside the resilient female domestic workers of Swabhiman Kendra, Panipat. Together, they orchestrated a meaningful Mental Health well-being program, hosted at the heart of compassion in the community centre run by Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) and the Marthawell Foundation.
        • Session at Azadpur Youth Centre
          • JIBS student and faculty visited the Azadpur Youth Centre to raise mental health awareness among children from economically weaker sections of society - ahead of World Mental Health Day 2023. Through movement, art, and meditation, the aim was to spread mindfulness, well-being and emphasize the importance of mental health for all.
