Prof. Surendra completed his LL.M. from SOAS University of London as Chevening Scholar specialising in international law and human rights. He has taught previously as an Assistant Professor in Law at Amity Law School, Amity University, Lucknow, as a Teaching Associate (Law) at LBS National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, and as an Assistant Professor of Law, Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. He is the Principal Indian Reporter for Oxford Reports on International Law in Domestic Courts (ILDC).
His interest lies at the intersection of constitutional law and philosophy, public international law, comparative constitutional law, human rights theory and practice. He is currently researching on the issues of interface of caste and race within constitutional framework and Sino-Indian experience of rule of law and interrogating its relationship with economic development.
Beyond professional pursuits, he is keenly interested in badminton, swimming and socio-cultural history of India.
