About The Programme
Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) has been offering the 3-year Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Programme since its establishment in 2009. The programme aligns with the latest guidelines and regulations set by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission, ensuring its relevance and academic rigor.

- Applicant to the 3-year Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Programme at JGLS must hold a Bachelor’s degree with not less than 45% aggregate marks from any recognised university (national or international). This course is open to students from all disciplines as there are no pre-requisites in terms of the courses undertaken at the Bachelor’s level.
- Admission is strictly based on JSAT- Law entrance exam.

The LL.B. Curriculum at JGLS comprises compulsory and elective courses of up to one semester’s duration. The compulsory courses provide students with a solid foundation in the essential branches of law and fulfill the necessary requirements for admission to practice. The elective courses allow students to pursue their interests and deepen their understanding of specific areas of law.
Each full semester course is worth 4 credits, except for electives that may range from 4 to 1 credits. To achieve a full-time load of 40 credits per year, students must complete a minimum of 20 credits per semester. Students may request to take on a higher load, not exceeding 28 credits per semester, with the approval of the Office of Academic Affairs.
To be awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree, students must earn a minimum of 120 credits, distributed as follows: at least 20 compulsory courses worth 80 credits in total, 6 elective courses worth 24 credits in total, and 4 compulsory clinical courses worth 16 credits in total.
Moreover, students may earn credits by participating in co-curricular activities that develop their legal reasoning skills and enhance their understanding of the law. The credits earned from permissible co-curricular activities will contribute to the total of 120 credits required to obtain an LL.B. degree.

Students are offered a number of elective courses from their third year of study. These courses are often interdisciplinary, involving elements of law as well as other disciplines in social science and management. Successful completion of electives will lead to the awarding of credits, which are ascertained per elective, based on the number of instructional hours. For example, a three credit course will have at least three hours of classroom lectures per week and one or more hours of tutorial instruction per week.
Further, a number of elective courses at the various schools of the University are open for cross-registration. For example, a student of the Jindal School of International Affairs may opt for a course on International Humanitarian Law offered by the Jindal Global Law School. Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) provides an academic support programme called the ‘LIFE in Law’ programme for students who face academic challenges. This programme is designed to assist students who need additional support in passing their re-sit examinations. The ‘LIFE in Law’ programme is a teaching-oriented program, with a focus on preparing students for re-sit examinations.
The programme is designed to cater to the needs of students who require assistance in academics. It provides a support system to help students overcome academic challenges and succeed in their studies. The entire programme is designed to be teaching-oriented, with a focus on preparing students for re-sit examinations.

JGLS believes that an international experience is essential for students to recognize and embrace different cultural and community perspectives, creating new career opportunities and broadening their worldview. To facilitate this, JGLS offers a range of geographically diverse and academically enriching Student Exchange programmes for one semester. These programmes offer students the opportunity to study abroad at one of JGLS’s partner institutions, spread across varying legal systems, and bring back a unique learning experience. The exchanges not only enrich students’ academic and professional lives, but also enhance language learning, intercultural skills, self-reliance, and self-awareness, making them citizens of the world.
The programme is open to students pursuing the five-year B.Com. / B.B.A. LL.B / B.A. LL.B, three-year LL.B., and one-year LL.M. programmes. Eligible students from JGLS spend a semester at one of our partner institutions across the globe, and the programme is revenue-neutral with respect to tuition fees.
