Arpan Acharya is Assistant Professor at the OP Jindal Global University. He has a Ph.D. and M.Phil., both from the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance (CSLG) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, LL.M. from the National Law University Odisha, and BA.LLB. from Symbiosis Law School. He was an ICSSR doctoral fellow while he was at JNU and was the recipient of the ICSSR international travel grant to present his work at the International Political Science Association’s 24th World Congress. He has presented his work at various national and international seminars and his most recent article was on the right to religion vis-à-vis the so-called love jihad laws. His areas of interest are legal theory, law and sociology, and law and economics (especially approaches other than neo-liberal understandings of the same). He is a firm believer in interdisciplinary approaches to legal scholarship and the fact that law cannot be understood in isolation from other social sciences.
