Public Law and Jurisprudence

The Center leads research in persistent and contemporary issues in public law and legal theory. Much of its research negotiates the radically reddened boundaries between the private and the public. The Center offers expertise in different methodologies and its interdisciplinary interests spreads across analytical jurisprudence, moral and political philosophy, comparative public law, empirical studies, and law and economics. Research at the Center is driven by diverse concerns including, justice, violence, accountability, and coercion. Approaches adopted by researchers in the Center traverse geographical and political hemispheres of thought. Current public law projects at the Center are focused on judicial reasoning and empirical judicial studies. The Center aims to remain a destination for world-renowned scholars and public intellectuals.
