Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar
Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar is the founding Vice-Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) in Sonipat, Haryana, a premier “Institution of Eminence” in India. A Rhodes Scholar, he earned his B.C.L. at Oxford, LL.M. at Harvard, S.J.D. at the University of Hong Kong, and LL.B. at the University of Delhi. Appointed VC at just 34 in 2009, he envisioned and established India’s first truly global multidisciplinary university. Previously a faculty member at the City University of Hong Kong, Professor Kumar is an authority in human rights, comparative constitutional law, national security, corruption, disaster management, and higher-education policy. He has authored or edited nine books and over 200 scholarly works published in top journals and law reviews internationally. Professor Kumar has also advised UN agencies and Indian national bodies on governance, human rights, and legal education, cementing his global impact in academia and policy.

Cyril Shroff is the Managing Partner of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas since May 2015 and previously was the Managing Partner of Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co.
With over 43 years of experience in a range of areas, including corporate and securities law, disputes, banking, bankruptcy, infrastructure, private client, financial regulatory and others.
He is consistently ranked as “eminent practitioner” in India by Chambers Global and often regarded as the “M&A King of India” and regularly recognised as an award-winning professional across various practices and recognised as “Thought Leader Global Elite for M&A and Governance” by Who’s Who Legal 2024.

Mrs. Vandana Shroff
Vandana Shroff has over 29 years of wide-ranging experience in corporate matters, as well as specific experience in private equity and funds related areas. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team at cam, she plays a crucial role in leading by example, setting the tone for exemplary performance and going beyond the call of duty to ensure the best outcomes for every client. Over the years, Mrs. Shroff has demonstrated her expertise in corporate law and has been advising both domestic and international clients on various activities, including mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, foreign investments and commercial agreements. Additionally, Mrs. Shroff has advised several foreign and domestic private equity funds and venture capitalists, both in public and private investments. Mrs. Shroff has advised clients on all prospects/aspects of a deal, including due diligence, regulatory filings and other compliance issues. She also leads the Firm’s Disputes practice.

Mr. Rishabh Shroff
Rishabh Shroff is a Partner in Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and operates out of the Mumbai office. After completing his LL.B from the London School of Economics, London, he joined the Firm in September 2007. He was admitted as an advocate in the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa (India) in 2007. He is also a Solicitor, Supreme Court of England & Wales. Rishabh is the Co-Head of the Private Client practice at the Firm, specialising in family constitutions and settlements, trusts, wills and succession planning.
He provides succession, taxation, estate and wealth planning advice to wealthy individuals and their families, who are often promoters of large family businesses. He also provides related advice to trustees and other private client service providers, such as family offices and institutional / corporate trustees.

Ms. Saloni Shroff

Ms. Saloni Shroff
Saloni Shroff specialises in private mergers & acquisitions and joint venture transactions in the general corporate practice group. She has experience and focuses on corporate advisory and transactional matters, which mostly include Private Equity and M&A transactions. She has represented many large corporate houses, promoters, and private equity funds in M&A transactions and foreign private equity investments. She brings to the table experience of not only structuring and closing numerous investor driven transactions, but also of undertaking the negotiation of promoter/sell-side requirements on several occasions. Saloni also has experience in advising boards of listed entities, and independent directors on corporate governance matters. She had seconded with the New York offices of Kirkland & Ellis (K&E), where she was a foreign associate as part of their M&A/Private Equity Practice.

Ms. Paridhi Adani
Paridhi Adani advises both domestic and international clients on legal aspects of the Firm’s business strategy in India, including on various commercial arrangements, entry strategy, private equity, mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and foreign investment. She has assisted and advised domestic and multinational clients, large conglomerates, institutions, public sector entities, and technology-based start-ups, on evolving regulations and legal framework surrounding their businesses and activities in India. She has also been involved in drafting long term commercial contracts. She has been involved in numerous matters pertaining to mergers and acquisitions (including public M&A transactions), private equity investments, joint ventures and collaborations in various sectors and corporate governance related advice. Paridhi has also authored several domestic and international publications on joint ventures, entry strategy, corporate governance.

Professor Padmanabha Ramanujam
Professor Padmanabhan Ramanujam is Dean, Office of Academic Governance and Student Life at O.P. Jindal Global University. A distinguished legal academic, he holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Rights (with distinction) from the University of East Anglia, UK, where he received the International Scholarship, Norwich Law School Scholarship, and Best International Applicant Award. He also holds an M.B.L. from NLSIU Bangalore and a B.A.L., LL.B. from Bangalore University. He was awarded the prestigious Asia Link Fellowship by the European Union at the University of Hamburg and NLSIU. At JGU, Prof. Ramanujam has played a key role in shaping academic policies and student life, fostering a culture of inclusive governance and student engagement. His leadership balances academic rigor with holistic development, leaving a lasting impact on the university community and contributing meaningfully to legal education in India.

Professor (Dr.) S. G. Sreejith
Professor S.G. Sreejith is Professor and Dean, Strategy and Institution-Building, and Director of Endowment Development & Philanthropic Initiatives at O.P. Jindal Global University. He holds an LL.D. (with high honours) from the University of Lapland, an M.Phil. from JNU, and M.B.L. and LL.B. from the University of Kerala. He has previously worked with the Arctic Centre (University of Lapland), NUALS, and the University of Kerala. He authored Transcending Jurisprudence: A Critique of the Architectonics of International Law and has published widely in reputed journals including third World Quarterly, Hastings Int’l & Comp. L. Rev., Journal of Space Law, Air and Space Law, and Indian Journal of International Law. He has served on the editorial board of IJIL (Springer) and guest-edited issues of Journal of Human Values (Sage) and Jindal Global Law Review (Springer).

Professor Sidharth Chauhan
Professor Sidharth Chauhan is Director of the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation and Associate Professor & Associate Dean (Academic Affairs) at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), O.P. Jindal Global University. He read law at Harvard Law School (LL.M.), receiving the Dean’s Award and working at the Berkman Klein Center. He earned his first law degree with First Class Honours from Government Law College, Mumbai, and previously practiced corporate law at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and antitrust law at WilmerHale. He has taught internationally, including at the University of Gdansk under the Erasmus+ Scholar Programme, and is a Board Member (2025) of the George Washington Competition & Innovation Lab (India Chapter). At JGLS, he teaches corporate, competition, and technology law, with research focusing on corporate governance, antitrust, digital platforms, and AI.

Professor Krishna Deo Singh Chauhan
Professor Krishna Deo Singh Chauhan is Associate Director of the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation and Associate Professor at Jindal Global Law School, where he also serves as Assistant Dean (Academics) for the B.A. in AI and Law programme. He holds a law degree from NLIU Bhopal and a Master’s in Intellectual Property and Technology Law from the National University of Singapore, where he worked with Prof. Elizabeth Ng Siew Kuan on global biotech patent trends. He has served as the co-lead for a government-commissioned project on technology management. He has completed the Summer School on AI and Law at the European University Institute, Florence, and has been a part of the Jean Monnet Chair at JGU. His research explores AI, algorithmic regulation, and nudge theory, with publications exploring deeper jurisprudential issues concerning AI and pluri-ethical approaches to AI governance.

Professor Kashish Makkar
Kashish Makkar is a practicing regulatory lawyer. His work spans taxation, competition, and data protection. He has previously worked with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. Kashish holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) with first-class honours from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Rajiv Gandhi Scholar. He previously earned a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from NLSIU, Bengaluru, graduating as a Gold Medallist. Kashish served as the Editor-in-Chief of the National Law School of India Review. He also co-founded the Law School Policy Review. His scholarship has appeared in Statute Law Review (Oxford), Arbitration International (Oxford), and International Company and Commercial Law Review (Sweet & Maxwell). His legal columns routinely feature in national dailies including the Financial Express, the Telegraph, and Deccan Herald.

Professor Arindum Nayak
Professor Arindum Nayak is Associate Professor and Associate Director at the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation (CSCALR), Jindal Global Law School. He earned his master’s in law and finance from the University of Oxford as a Supperstone Scholar where he also served as the Vice-President of the Oxford Legaltech Society. He completed his undergraduate as an Aditya Birla Scholar at the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata, where he served as the President of the Student Association, Associate Member of the NUJS Law Review and Coordinator for TEDxNUJS. Arindum has previously worked with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in New Delhi and the Regulatory Genome Project (RegGenome) in Cambridge where he worked closely with international regulatory bodies including IOSCO and BIS to help leverage artificial intelligence to develop digital models of financial regulations. His research lies at the intersection of law, finance, and technology.

Professor Spriha Bhandari
Professor Spriha Bhandari is Assistant Director of the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation, Assistant Professor of Legal Practice at Jindal Global Law School, where she also serves as Assistant Dean, and Faculty Coordinator of the Legal Incubation Centre. She holds an LL.M. in Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship from Cornell Tech (Cornell Law School), Cornell University, and a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Spriha has worked with former ASG and Senior Advocate Mr. Rajeeve Mehra, Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, ASC for Delhi Police and former SPP for CBI, Delhi High Court, and as Judicial Clerk to Hon’ble Mr. Justice Siddharth Mridul (Retd.). She has developed legal tech products for Azytah Techh (India) and Zenlaw Inc. (US). She is leading multiple projects at the intersection of law, technology, and design to advance accessibility and efficiency in law, policy, and governance.

Professor Paavni Jain
Professor Paavni Jain is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director at the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation (CSCALR), Jindal Global Law School. She completed her schooling from Sanskriti School, followed by a BBA-LLB from Symbiosis Pune and an LLM from the University of Cambridge. During her LLM, she undertook courses in Artificial Intelligence, which sparked a keen interest in researching the intersection of law and emerging technologies. She also worked for three years at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, gaining valuable industry experience (Banking & Project Finance and Indirect Taxation). Driven by a desire to develop and propose laws and policies for India in the evolving digital landscape, she is committed to advancing research in AI, law, and regulation.

Professor Souradeep Mukhopadhyay
Professor Souradeep Mukhopadhyay is an Assistant Director of the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation and an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School. Souradeep earned his master’s in law from Harvard, focussing on digital governance and IP. He received his first law degree from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL), where he was the recipient of the Chancellor’s Gold Medal for best overall performance. He has worked as a Senior Associate at Anand & Anand where he represented industry giants, such as, Meta, AstraZeneca, he represented industry giants, such as, Meta, AstraZeneca, and the Marriott Group in various IP disputes. After leaving the firm, he started his independent legal practice, representing and advising clients on commercial matters, data privacy and IP. Souradeep’s research interest lies in IP, data privacy and the regulation of artificial intelligence.

Professor Nikhil Naren
Professor Nikhil Naren, Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School and Of Counsel at Scriboard, specialises in law and technology. A Chevening Scholar and recipient of the UK Foreign Office’s ‘Gold Award’ for Volunteering, he has worked on Microsoft’s ‘Cloud Legal Project’ and consulted for UNCTAD, Geneva. His teaching and research lie in exploring how technologies challenge the limits of the law [and the ways to tackle it!]. Co-Author of Artificial Intelligence and Law: Challenges Demystified (2022 & 2024) and Internet Law (2020), his upcoming book—Technology Law: Regulations, Cyber Policy, and the Digital Landscape releases in Sept 2025. He advises on IP, privacy, and emerging tech, and delivered trainings for HCLTech, Luthra & Luthra, and CAG Officers. He has taught technology law at over a dozen law schools, including NLU Delhi, NLU Odisha, and WBNUJS, Kolkata.

Professor Ashwin Upreti
Professor Ashwin Upreti is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director at the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law and Regulation (CSCALR), Jindal Global Law School. He is an India-qualified lawyer and holds a law degree from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law and an LL.M. from the London School of Economics. He has worked with the Office of the Advocate General of Rajasthan, the Chief Justice of Rajasthan, and the State Human Rights Commission, in addition to advising private entities. He has also served as a pro bono Advocate for the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. His research has been cited by constitutional courts and informed a major suo motu public interest action in Rajasthan. Ashwin’s writings have appeared in the Columbia Public Policy Review, RightsViews (Columbia University), and the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics, among others.

Mr. Ankur Bahel is the Deputy CFO of O.P. Jindal Global University, where he supports strategic financial planning, compliance, and operations across all units. Mr. Bahel plays a key role in budget execution, internal controls, procurement, and fund utilisation.
