The Centre was represented by Prof. Siddharth at a discussion titled “AI Sovereignty in an Interdependent World,” hosted by the Observer Research Foundation in collaboration with The Dialogue and Project AWARE. The discussion examined the challenges of deployer dependence in the AI ecosystem and explored the domestic and international policy tools available to address these concerns. Participants deliberated on strategic points across AI supply chains, deployment pathways, and service infrastructures where regulatory and policy interventions can create meaningful leverage. The session provided a valuable platform for engaging with emerging questions surrounding AI sovereignty, technological dependence, and the governance mechanisms required to balance national priorities with global interdependence in the development and deployment of artificial intelligence.
