The Centre has entered into a collaboration with the CyberPeace Foundation on the development of the CyberPeace Index, a global framework aimed at redefining how cyber ecosystems are evaluated by centring values of trust, safety, and digital well-being. The initiative builds on earlier engagements, including its announcement at the United Nations Internet Governance Forum 2025 and subsequent discussions at an expert roundtable hosted at a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime event in Hanoi. At the core of the CyberPeace Index is a ten-pillar framework designed to assess nations across key dimensions such as cybersecurity readiness, cybercrime response, digital peace diplomacy, cyber literacy and inclusion, public-private partnerships, responsible AI governance, psychosocial resilience, and user trust and safety. The framework seeks to provide a holistic measure of how effectively digital ecosystems are fostered as safe, inclusive, and trustworthy environments. The collaboration is being led by Prof. Nikhil Naren, Assistant Director at the Centre, alongside Maj. Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President of CyberPeace, and Mr. Neeraj Soni, Senior Research Analyst at CyberPeace. Prof. Naren’s prior engagement with the CyberPeace Index, including moderating a high-level roundtable at the CyberPeace Summit 2026, contributed to shaping this partnership. The initiative reflects the Centre’s continued engagement with global conversations at the intersection of technology, governance, law, and digital trust.
