The Centre engaged with the international cohort of the Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship through a session titled “Mapping the AI Regulatory Landscape: Global Trends and Emerging Frameworks.” Conducted by Prof. Krishna Deo Singh Chauhan, Associate Director of the Centre, the session examined the evolving global landscape of AI governance, tracing the transition from voluntary ethical principles to binding regulatory frameworks.

Participants were introduced to the diverse approaches adopted by jurisdictions including the European Union, the United States, China, and India, highlighting differing regulatory philosophies and policy priorities. The discussion also explored emerging issues surrounding agentic AI, synthetic media, liability, copyright, child safety, frontier AI governance, and the concentration of technological power. Bringing together fellows from diverse academic and national backgrounds, the session provided a valuable platform for examining the opportunities, risks, and governance challenges associated with the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
