Flourishing and Sustainability in the Age of AI
As societies enter the age of Artificial Intelligence, the central question is no longer how rapidly technologies can advance, but whether they support human and planetary flourishing within sustainable limits. The conference positions flourishing and sustainability as the primary goals, with AI understood as a powerful yet contingent context that must be ethically governed and socially embedded. While AI offers opportunities to address climate challenges, improve public services, and expand access to knowledge, it also raises concerns regarding energy consumption, inequality, and the erosion of human agency. Addressing these tensions requires moving beyond techno-centric narratives toward value-driven, inclusive, and future-oriented approaches.
As a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary global forum, STAR Scholars Network welcomes contributions from engineering, medicine, environmental sciences, social sciences, humanities, liberal arts, education, policy, and allied fields, fostering dialogue that bridges technical innovation with ethical responsibility and sustainable futures.
We particularly welcome submissions that explore the following sub-themes:
Join us in shaping a future that is inclusive, resilient, and profoundly humane.
