2008
- Mr. Naveen Jindal’s decision to establish the O.P. Jindal Global University in memory of his father, Shri O.P. Jindal as a philanthropic initiative in January 2008.
- Presentation by Mr. Stephane Paumier, Architect, SPA Design, 27 June 2008.
- Acquisition of 54 acres of land at Sonipat, Haryana, India during June – July 2008.
- The Bhoomi Pujan at the proposed campus of JGU in Sonipat was held on 21 August 2008.
- Letter of Intent (LOI) issued by the Government of Haryana for establishing JGU in Sonipat, 10 October 2008.


2009
- JGU established as Haryana’s first private university by the Government of Haryana, 13 February 2009.
- Established its irst school, Jindal Global Law School and launched the Jindal Global Law Review, 8 August 2009.
- JGU & Harvard Law School hosted the Round Table Discussion on “Globalisation of Legal Profession in India & Beyond”, 9 August 2009.
- The Bar Council of India recognised all the programmes offered by the JGLS and the irst academic session of JGU began on 30 September 2009.
- Professor Richard Levin, President, Yale University, visited the Chancellor of JGU, Mr. Naveen Jindal, 6 November 2009.
- The irst batch of JGU students participated in the Human Rights Day lecture by Mr. Fali Nariman, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, 9 December 2009.
2010
- JGU established its second school, Jindal Global Business School.
- Professor Peter H. Schuck of Yale Law School delivered a Public Lecture as a Distinguished Visiting Professor where he taught the irst batch of JGLS students, 25 January 2010.
- Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India delivered a Public Lecture at JGU, 9 March 2010.
- JGU, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, signed an agreement with the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, 11 March 2010.
- Mr. Naveen Jindal and his family hoisted one of India’s tallest National Flags on the occasion of the Founder’s Day, 7 August 2010.


2011
- JGU established its third school, the Jindal School of International Affairs.
- Dr. Leonel Antonio Fernández Reyna, President of the Dominican Republic visited the JGU Campus, 2 February 2011.
- JGU Global Library was inaugurated by Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana, 7 August 2011.
- Dr. Thomas Pogge, Leitner Professor of Philosophy & International Affairs, Yale University delivered the Dr. Arjun K. Sengupta First Memorial Lecture at JGU, 25 October 2011.
- Mrs. Maria Da Luz Guebuza, First Lady of the Republic of Mozambique delivered the public lecture at JGU, 9 November 2011.
- Chancellor Mr. Naveen Jindal received the Capital Foundation Award from Dr. A.P. J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, 5 December 2011.
2012
- JGU established its fourth school, Jindal School of Government and Public Policy.
- Established the irst training and capacity building institute, Jindal Institute of Leadership Development & Executive Education.
- The Jindal Journal of Business Research, produced by Sage Publications, was launched as the University’s irst research journal to be recognised as a “Double-Blind Peer-Reviewed” academic reference.
- JGU organised a forum for UK and Indian Parliamentarians, 19 August 2012.
- N. Ravi, Former Editor-in-Chief, The Hindu delivered the Public Lecture at JGU, 24 September 2012.
- Shashi Tharoor delivered the Yale-Jindal Special Lecture during the Signing of MoU between JGU and Yale University, 10 December 2012.


2013
- JGU established its ifth school, Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities.
- Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India visited the JGU campus and inaugurated the International Conference on “The Future of Higher Education in India”, 21 March 2013.
- Visit of Mr. Joseph Nyumah Boakai. Sr., Hon’ble Vice President of Liberia to JGU, 22 March 2013.
- JGU and the University of Oxford signed an MoU to advance excellence in education, training, research, and capacity building, 8 December 2013.
- Hon’ble Vice President of India, Mr. Hamid Ansari, visited JGU and inaugurated the conference on “Federalisms and Localisms”, 10 October 2013.
2014
- JGU established its irst research institute, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences.
- Recognised as the “Best University for Serving Social Cause and Global Orientation” by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).
- Visit of Dr. David M. Malone, Rector, United Nations University, Tokyo to JGU, 6 January 2014.
- Visit of Mr. William Robinson, President, American Bar Association to JGU, 17 February 2014.
- JGLS ranked second in a survey for top emerging law colleges in the country conducted by India Today-Nielsen.
- Visit of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mohamed Bennouna, President, International Court of Justice, The Hague to JGU Campus, 24 November 2014.


2015
- JGU established the International Institute for Higher Education Research & Capacity Building.
- Professor Avi Soifer, Dean, University of Hawaii, Mānoa, William S. Richardson School of Law, signed MoU with JGU in the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Michael Wilson, Judge, Supreme Court of Hawaii, 9 March 2015.
- JGLS received a research and capacity building grant of US $1.35 million from Qualcomm Inc., USA to pursue research and scholarship relating to the interface of intellectual property and competition law., 19 October 2015.
- Times Higher Education & JGU jointly organised the BRICS & Emerging Economies Universities Summit, hosted and inaugurated by the Hon’ble President of India at the Durbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, 2 December 2015.
- JGU and Queen Mary University of London signed an MoU to collaborate on research, student & faculty exchange, 9 December 2015.
2016
- JGU established its sixth school, Jindal School of Journalism & Communication.
- Awarded the highest ‘A’ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), 17 March 2016.
- Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India and Mr. Hamid Ansari, Hon’ble Vice President of India is presented with the irst copy of the book “The Education President” at Rashtrapati Bhavan, 8 June 2016.
- Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences hosted the 18th World Congress of Criminology,15 December 2016.
- Rajdeep Sardesai, Senior Journalist and Consulting Editor, India Today, delivered the JSJC inaugural lecture, 20 December 2016.
- IIHEd Roundtable Series on Philanthropy: Institution Building and Social Development where speakers included Ms. Shallu Jindal, Ms. Marcy Schuck and Professor Peter Schuck, 20 December 2016.


2017
- JGU established its seventh school, Jindal School of Art and Architecture.
- Australia-India Council (AIC) Delegation led by Mr. Michael Kasprowicz visited JGU, 13 January 2017.
- Hon’ble President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee visited the JGU campus for the second time and inaugurated the International Conference on “Universities of the Future”, 18 March 2017.
- N. Ram, Former Editor-in-Chief, The Hindu delivered the Commencement Lecture at JGU, 1 August 2017.
- JGU secured the First Rank in the Swachh Campus Rankings by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, 14 September 2017.
2018
- JGU established its eighth school, Jindal School of Banking & Finance.
- Hon’ble Mr. Justice Michael Kirby, Former Judge, High Court of Australia delivered a Public Lecture, 11 January 2018.
- Chancellor Mr. Naveen Jindal interacted with Australian students as part of India Immersion Programme, 19 January 2018.
- Suresh Narayanan, Chairman & Managing Director, Nestle, delivered a Public Lecture at JGBS, 7 April 2018.
- Professor (Dr.) Jagdish N. Sheth, Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing, Goizueta Business School, Emory University, delivered the Public Lecture, 5 July 2018.
- Hon’ble Mr. Kevin Rudd, Former Prime Minister of Australia and Member of Parliament delivered the Lecture on “Australia, India and China: Distant Cousins or Dependant Brothers?”, 1 October 2018.


2019
- Ambassador Dr. Sukehiro Hasegawa, President, Global Peacebuilding Association of Japan, spoke at the conference on the Future of United Nations, 20 February 2019.
- Hon’ble Margaret Beazley AO QC, Retired President, New South Wales Court of Appeal and Governor Designate of NSW delivered a Public Lecture, 17 April 2019.
- JGU ranked in the 751-800 band of the QS World University Rankings 2020, making JGU the youngest university in the world to have been ranked in these rankings.
- Bibek Debroy, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister delivered a Public Lecture, 28 August 2019.
- Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, Niti Aayog, delivered the inaugural lecture at the irst Global Finance Conclave, 17 September 2019.
- Shallu Jindal addressed the JGU students on the Opening Ceremony of Biswamil, 17 October 2019.
2020
- JGU established its ninth school, Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability.
- A student delegation from New York University visited JGU, 19 January 2020.
- Distinguished Public Lecture delivered by Mr. Fouad Seniora, Former Prime Minister of Lebanon, 28 February, 2020.
- Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India, presided over the Dr. N.R. Madhava Menon Inaugural Memorial Lecture delivered by Dr. Shashi Tharoor on the theme: “Law and the Idea of India”, organised by JGU, 4 March 2020.
- In a historic milestone and a signi icant recognition, JGU was conferred the status of an ‘Institution of Eminence (IoE)’ by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, 4 November 2020.


2021
- JGU established its tenth school, Jindal School of Psychology & Counselling.
- JGU won the ‘Digital Innovation of the Year Award’ at the Times Higher Education Asia Awards 2021.
- JGLS ranked as India’s No. 1 Law School and 76th globally by the QS World University Subject Rankings 2021.
- Release of the report on the National Education Policy by the Union Minister of Education, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, jointly prepared by JGU and the Association of Indian Universities, April 2021.
- Barry O’ Farrell A.O., High Commissioner to India, High Commission for Australia visited JGU for the 75th Indian Independence Day celebrations, 15 August 2021.
- 1st Pritam Singh Memorial Conference hosted by JGU, 17-19 November 2021.
2022
- JGU established its eleventh school, Jindal School of Languages & Literature and twelfth school, Jindal School of Public Health & Human Development.
- Unveiling of the “Singhvi Endowment” of Rs. 2 crores established at JGU by Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Senior Advocate with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India as Chief Guest, 9 November 2022.
- India’s leading law irm, Khaitan & Co. established an Endowment Fund of Rs. 1 crore at JGU, 11 October 2022.
- Hon’ble Mr. Jagdeep Dhankar, Vice President of India, delivered the Keynote Address at the 8th Dr. LM Singhvi Memorial Lecture, 2 December 2022.

- Eric M. Garcetti, Ambassador of USA to India delivered a Public Lecture at JGU, 8 April 2024.
- R. Venkataramani, Attorney General for India delivered the Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer Memorial Lecture with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant, Hon’ble Mr. Justice C.T. Ravikumar and Hon’ble Mr. Justice K.V. Viswanathan as Guests of Honour, 13 April 2024.
- The Chancellor Mr. Naveen Jindal constituted the New Governing Council of JGU and chaired its irst meeting on 6 August 2024.
- Announced the Establishment of the “The Constitution Academy & The Rights and Freedoms Museum” at the JGU campus, a monumental and historic one-of-a-kind initiative to mark the 75th Anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India, 15 August 2024.
