The O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre
A Living Tribute to Vision, Steel & Nation-Building
The O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre celebrate the life, philosophy, and remarkable journey of Shri O.P. Jindal — a pioneer who reshaped the landscape of steel manufacturing in India.
About Shri O.P. Jindal
“A nation becomes strong not just through machines, but through the hands and hearts that build them. In every challenge lies an opportunity — if we have the courage to dream, and the discipline to act. Leadership is not about power, but about lifting others as we rise.”

The Journey of Creation
The idea for the O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre was envisioned by Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar on 6 May 2025, accompanied by a conceptual vision and preliminary design shared with the JGU team.
The project commenced with meticulous archival research, data collection, and visual curation—drawing from rare photographs, books, online records, and video footage to shape an authentic and meaningful narrative.
Following vendor finalisation, clay modelling began on 1 June 2025, alongside civil work, culminating in completion by 26 July 2025.
Over 70 artists, civil engineers, designers, and workers from across India contributed to this extraordinary endeavour, dedicating more than 31,800 man-hours—working 15 hours daily across every dimension: research, modelling, casting, buffing, painting, and installation.
“A nation becomes strong not just through machines, but through the hands and hearts that build them. In every challenge lies an opportunity — if we have the courage to dream, and the discipline to act. Leadership is not about power, but about lifting others as we rise.”
“All differences can be amicably resolved through dialogue.”
“बाऊजी श्री ओ.पी. जिंदल जी कहा करते थे —
बेटा पढ़ता है तो एक घर बसता है,
बेटी पढ़ती है तो दो घर बसते हैं ।”
“If we work hard and be good to people around we will surely succeed.”
“Where others saw walls, he saw doors.”
“Without the upliftment of the weaker and backward sections of society, our nation’s dream of becoming a leading power shall remain unfulfilled.”
Design Philosophy
The O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre
The O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre, built as a tribute to Shri O.P. Jindal, symbolises his legacy through the significant and purposeful use of steel, with a total of 2800 kg of Mild Steel and Stainless Steel used in the mural walls. The mural walls made with a combination of Bronze, Cast Iron and Steel cumulatively weigh 5,200 kg, and the ceiling components — including ripple sheets, plain ceiling, and perforated panels — collectively weigh 600 kg.
The original structural windows of the O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre have been thoughtfully preserved, offering an unobstructed view of the towering flagpole — a powerful emblem of Shri O.P. Jindal’s unwavering patriotism and deep love for the nation.
The design reflects strength, resilience, and grandeur, mirroring the qualities of steel — Shri O.P. Jindal’s life’s work. Every structural and artistic element combines industrial aesthetics with elegant storytelling, blending tradition with modern technology.

“If we work hard and be good to people around we will surely succeed.”
“Where others saw walls, he saw doors.”
The Man Who Talked to Machines
Not just a builder — he would feel, The heartbeat humming through the steel. Each motor spoke, each gear replied — He walked where man and metal tied.

The Spirit of Enterprise
Risk was rhythm, bold and wide — Enterprise became his stride. He dreamt for more than self or fame, And lit the world with Jindal’s name.

Calcutta – 1950
In Calcutta’s noise and restless street, A spark was born beneath his feet. What once was trade became a vow — To shape the steel of India now.
Roots of Resilience
From Hisar’s soil, a seed took flight — With roots in grit, and hands in light. He built not just with fire and flame, But with a will that earned his name.

Grounded In Faith, Tradition, and Home
With roots in faith and customs deep, He built where hearts and memories sleep. The comfort of home, the strength of soil — He found his rest in honest toil.

From Village to Visionary
From village clay to factories grand, He dreamt in steel, and shaped the land.

Shri O.P. Jindal
A Continuing Journey of Steel, Strength, And Spirit

Legacy Mural
The Legacy Mural Walls depict the inspiring journey of Shri O.P. Jindal in two distinct parts.
The Visual Legacy Wall: The O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre dedicated to Shri O.P. Jindal stands as a timeless tribute—grand in its design yet humble before the extraordinary life and vision it celebrates. Every detail of its uniquely crafted metallic interiors has been meticulously envisioned to reflect strength, resilience, and innovation, qualities that defined Shri O.P. Jindal himself. Yet, amidst the grandeur, the true heart of the space is the ever-smiling face of Shri O.P. Jindal, gracefully placed at the centre of the legacy wall, radiating warmth and inspiration that surpasses any design or structure.
The Wall, spanning 7 meters in length and 2.6 meters in height, displays a series of murals that visually represent key moments from his life. It is crafted from a mix of cast iron and bronze and weighs 2750 kilograms.
Each mural is composed of smaller slides, weighing between 60 to 80 kilograms. To allow ease of casting and transport, every slide was divided into 4 to 10 smaller segments, and then meticulously reassembled on-site.
The Illustrated Journey Wall: Capturing the milestones of Shri O.P. Jindal’s remarkable and inspiring life, this wall narrates his life story through detailed illustrations. Made entirely of bronze, it is enhanced with PVD-coated stainless steel sheets that add a rich metallic sheen. It spans 7 meters in length and stands slightly taller at 2.8 meters, and weighs 1650 kilograms.
To preserve both strength and beauty over time, both mural walls are finished with PU automotive paint, and are treated with anti-rust and damage-resistant technology—ensuring they stand the test of time.
“Without the upliftment of the weaker and backward sections of society, our nation’s dream of becoming a leading power shall remain unfulfilled.”
The Legacy Mural Project: The Making Journey
After the clay modelling phase, fiberglass molds were carefully crafted and sent for iron casting. During the initial stages, the team faced challenges with large single-piece castings, resulting in 400–450 kilograms of metal wastage due to trial and error. To overcome this, each mural slide was strategically divided into 4 to 10 smaller sections, which were later welded seamlessly to restore the original design. The finishing process involved meticulous die grinding, intricate detailing, and painting, ultimately giving the mural its striking, polished appearance. For installation at the O.P. Jindal Heritage Centre, a custom steel frame was fabricated, transported in modular sections, and assembled on-site. Around 4 to 5 mural slides were delivered each day and installed with precision, ensuring structural integrity and artistic alignment.

Hands That Built, Heart That Led
With hands of iron and heart of gold, He built a legacy, brave and bold.

Forging The Future
Each furnace lit, each pillar laid — Was built on dreams that never fade. In steel he trusted, in India he saw — A destiny forged by courage and law.

Steel for Nation
From furnace fire to coiled steel’s flow, He built the bridges India would know.
Oath Of Office as Power Minister
With folded hands and earnest gaze, He vowed to serve in humble ways. From plant to people, light he gave — A steward bold, a leader brave.

Turning Grit into Gears
He turned grit into grinding gears And vision into working years.

The Voice of People
He rose not just in industry’s name, But in the people’s hope and claim. In every square, in Parliament’s call — His voice was steady, strong for all.

Chronicles of Change
Through every forge and furnace flame, He wrote new chapters in India’s name.
The Light Beyond Steel
Wherever steel would find its way, Rose schools, rose hope, rose brighter day. His giving heart knew no divide — He built with care on every side.

He Who Giveth
“No fee from school,” he’d gently say, “If there’s a need, just come my way.” For learning lit his truest flame — He gave, not for praise, nor fame.

People First, Always
Before the steel, before the gain — He placed the people, through joy and strain.

Award From President of India
For safety first and every life, He balanced growth with care through strife. The President’s hand, a grateful nod — To one whose work was true to God.
Passing The Mantle
Not in his shadow, but with his fire — His sons now carry his fearless desire. A legacy lit by steel and grace, Passed on with strength, not just a face.

2005
A Nation Mourns A Nation paused, its breath held tight — A final salute in morning light. Though gone, his path still brightly glows — Wherever steel or spirit flows.
