Dr. Akash Bhattacharya is a historian and an educator. He has a Ph.D. in history from the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has been a short-term visiting fellow at the German Historical Institute, London, and a post-doctoral fellow at the Max Weber Stiftung. He taught at the School of Education, Azim Premji University, Bangalore from 2019 to 2022. He has researched and written on the history of colonial education in India, on contemporary education policies, and on public history. He is also a commentator on topical public issues.
