Anupama Chandra is a film editor, director, and teacher. She graduated with a diploma in film editing from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, India, and in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford, UK, and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi

Over the last twenty-five years, Anupama has worked as an editor on several films, with a special focus on documentaries. Many of these have awards, both nationally and internationally. Anupama’s own documentary feature, The Books We Made, won the Special Jury Prize at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala, in 2017, and was screened at several international festivals.

Anupama also has several years of teaching experience in teaching film editing across workshops at different institutions. These include: Srishti School of Art and Design, Ashoka University, The State Institute for Performing and Visual Arts (Rohtak),  SACAC (Sri Aurobindo Centre for Art and Culture), New Delhi, and Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad

She led the editorial team for The Encyclopedia of Hindi Cinema, published by Encyclopedia Britannica, and has also written reviews for the books page at The Asian Age.
