Sreeradha Datta before joining Jindal School of International Affairs, O.P Jindal Global University was Senior Fellow and heading the Neighbourhood Studies Centre of the Vivekananda International Foundation. She is also a non-resident Senior Fellow with Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore, Singapore. Prior to that she was director, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata for six years and held fellowships with Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, among other institutions. She has a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and an MPhil degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata where she had also completed her graduation and post-graduation courses too.

Her recent works are titled, Act East Policy and Northeast India and an edited BIMSTEC: The Journey and Way Ahead and co-edited, Bangladesh at 50: Development and Challenges . That apart she has written Caretaking Democracy: Political Process in Bangladesh, 2006-08, Bangladesh: A Fragile Democracy, The Northeast Complexities and its Determinants, and edited Changing Security Dynamics in South East Asia and few other monographs covering Bangladesh, South-East Asia, Myanmar. She has also published over 150 articles in journals, edited volumes, newspapers and academic websites.


Her research interests include India’s neighbourhood policies, regionalism and cross-border issues. Amongst other distinctions, she has been recipient of international fellowships including at German Institute of Global Affairs, Distinguished Indian Scholar Series University of Taiwan, International Leadership Visitors Programme, at USA, awarded the Shelton Kodikara Award for South Asian Strategic Studies, Distinguished Indian Scholar Series University of Taiwan, and Visiting Fellow at Jadavpur University besides other fellowships


She continues to serve on the academic boards of several Universities and think tanks and is a regular participant in track 2 dialogues with India and several of its neighbours.
