The capstone is an innovation in the curriculum of M A Public Policy programme at JSGP. The allocation of Capstone Project is scheduled in fourth semester (last semester) for a duration of four to six months (subjected to the requirement of the project). The student is expected to work in an organization/ professionally managed institution under the guidance that assigns specific work to him/her, and in which he/she draws on the knowledge gained in the course to present the organisation with a solution. JSGP students have served on domestic as well as overseas internship positions including with some of the leading national and international NGOs. The internship element is systematically built into the curriculum; students complete two internships (one winter and another in summer) which they have to complete before they graduate. Internship work in the field is followed by a formal presentation of a report through a seminar. An internship often opens the pathways for a longer term association with the interning organisation.
