Programme Details


B.A. (Hons) in Social Sciences and Policy is a unique and first of its kind interdisciplinary programme in India, which provides the students with a solid grounding in social science theories and their applications. Sudents will learn to use social sciences to solve problems of the society and the economy. They will acquire skills to develop models and tools, and apply those in the field of public policy, development interventions, journalism, advocacy, communications, branding and marketing research. The broad structure of the programme will impart the knowledge required to succeed in the civil services entrance examination. The core courses will help students to gain conceptual clarity and an array of electives will allow them to learn about the topics and social issues of their choice. The programme will offer exposure to the real world practices through internships, research and capstone projects. All the students will be extensively mentored by the faculty members and industry specialists.


An aspiring student should have successfully completed class XII examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

Credit Structure

The three year full-time, residential programme will commence in first week of August. Students are required to successfully complete 85 credits spread over six semesters, write a term paper and undertake at least two internships.
