I am pleased to share the release of my new book, Multidisciplinary Perspectives in Social Cognition: Recent Advances and Future Questions, published by Taylor & Francis/Routledge.

This book takes a fresh approach to understanding social cognition by incorporating perspectives from Indian and non-WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) contexts, offering a broader and more culturally grounded view of how people perceive and interpret social information. Much of the existing literature on social cognition is based on research conducted in WEIRD populations, which may not always translate well to diverse sociocultural settings. This book addresses that gap by incorporating Indian research, examples, case studies, and insights from non-WEIRD settings. It provides students and researchers with a more representative understanding of social cognition - one that acknowledges the role of cultural variation in shaping social thought and behaviour.

This book can serve as a valuable resource in making social cognition more relatable and accessible to our students. I hope this book proves useful for your teaching and research. I would love to hear your thoughts on how it could contribute to discussions on social cognition, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with colleagues or students who may find it relevant.

It is available on Amazon and on the link below. The library will have a few copies soon as well!
