Biography

Ms. Raavi Masta is a research scholar pursuing a Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow), focusing on the gig economy, identity, and social support systems within the changing world of work. Her doctoral research investigates how gig workers navigate evolving work environments and build resilient social support networks. She has published in reputable journals such as Employee Relations and regularly presents her work at national and international forums, including the Pan-IIM Conference, INDAM Conference, and EGOS Colloquium.

Prior to joining JIBS, she taught at Dyal Singh College and Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, and contributed to curriculum delivery at the School of Open Learning (SOL) and the Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), University of Delhi. After completing her postgraduate studies, she worked as a Module Development Intern on the e-PG Pathshala Project (UGC), a key initiative under the NMEICT mission of MHRD.

Her leadership experience includes serving as an organising member for the National Conference on Transformations in Business, Management & Entrepreneurship (NCBME, 2019) at Dyal Singh College, for Faculty Development Programs, and for the 4th Annual International Commerce Convention at the Delhi School of Economics (DSE). She was a member of the Media Cell at DSE and an associate member of NSS and Rotaract, further demonstrating her active involvement in professional and community organisations.

She remains dedicated to advancing research and discourse on changing paradigms of work, with a strong focus on strengthening social support for emerging worker groups.
