Deblina Dey is an Associate Professor & Assistant Dean at Jindal Global Law School where she teaches sociology of law. She completed her graduation and post-graduation in Sociology and went on to pursue her M.Phil. degree from the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance (CSLG) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Deblina has recently submitted her doctoral thesis which enquires into the changing role of family, state and the market with regard to elder care in India.
Apart from gerontology and sociology of law, her other research interests include: medical anthropology, care theories, epistemologies of violence, sociology of the market, disability and kinship studies. She has also served as the Member Secretary of the Disability Support Committee of the university (2016-2018) and envisaged a policy, where none existed, based on her interaction with students and colleagues.
