Prof.. Eka Nugraha Putra

Dr. Eka Nugraha Putra holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) from Indiana University – Maurer School of Law, the United States. His dissertation research is carried out by conducting comparative approaches among several countries by analyzing the criminal defamation laws and cases and identifying best practices for free speech and democracy.

Since 2019, He joined BULLY ID Indonesia as a legal advisor, a platform that focuses on protecting cyberbullying and online harassment victims through three services: relationship health check, revenge porn report, and legal and psychological counseling with licensed experts. He was also selected as an International Research Fellow at the Information Society Law Center at the University of Milan, Italy, for 2022-2023. He received Fulbright Scholarship (2018) and AIFIS – Luce Fellowship (2019-2020) for his research entitled “Criminal Defamation and Free Expression in the Digital Age.
