Prof. Debolina joined Jindal Global Law School in 2019, having previously taught at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies for a year. Debolina holds an LL.M. in International Law & Security from the University of Glasgow, which she completed in 2017. Prior to that she had obtained an LL.M. in Constitutional Law from HNBGU, having earned her undergraduate law degree also from HNBGU in 2012. She was admitted to the Indian Bar Council in 2014 and has served as Judicial Intern to Justice Dipankar Datta (the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Mumbai High Court at present) at the Calcutta High Court. She also holds Bachelor’s degrees in Education and in English (with Honours) from the University of Calcutta.
At Glasgow, her LL.M. Dissertation was awarded a Distinction. It discussed the Indian Model Bilateral Investment Treaty of 2016, focusing specifically on the standard of review adopted by international arbitral tribunals for reviewing domestic judgements.

Her research interests lie in the areas of international dispute settlement, investment arbitration (ISDS), international security issues, the law of the sea and international environmental law.
