Prof. Ajey Sangai graduated from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2011. In the course of B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) programme, he was on the editorial board of NALSAR Student Law Review, convenor of Academic Committee and participated in drafting of a model Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill under the leadership of prof. Amita Dhanda. Thereafter, he went to New York University and completed LL.M. in Legal Theory in 2012. During this programme, he took courses ranging from legal and political philosophy, comparative constitutional law, economic and social rights, and rule of law.

After completing LL.M., he joined Jindal Global Law School as a Research Associate for three semesters before serving as Assistant Professor at NALSAR University of Law for about two years. During this time he taught several courses including law of contracts, property law, criminal law and legal methods. He has also offered seminar courses on comparative constitutional law, liberal equality and contract theory.

Thereafter, he served as Research Fellow at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, New Delhi. In this stint, he worked on the issues of Right to Education and Judicial Reforms and wrote a few editorial pieces in The Hindu as well.
