Nandita is a law graduate with an LL.M. from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London where she specialized in law and gender. She completed her Bachelor of Law degree (B.A.LLB. Hons.) from Christ University, Bangalore in 2017.
Prior to her LL.M., Nandita practiced before the Madras High Court and Family Courts under Advocate Geeta Ramaseshan for over two years. It is here that she learnt and developed an interest in family law practice and feminist lawyering.
During her undergraduate studies, Nandita was the Student Convenor for the Legal Aid and Awareness Society at Christ University and worked closely with the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority. She also initiated the award-winning ‘#IWillGoOut’ campaign in 2017 calling for safety of women in public places. Her key areas of research interest are family law, criminal law, and their praxis in the legal system.
