Madhav Shankar has completed his BA. LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law University, Delhi and his LL.M. in Law and Technology from Tilburg University, The Netherlands. The focus of his research during his master’s program has been on analyzing the suitability of using design thinking in regulation, specifically ‘Data Protection by Design’ as a mechanism to attain the goals of Data Protection and Privacy regulation.

Madhav has worked as an M&A Underwriter with Transact Risk Partners, Amsterdam, for a period of one year, where he was involved in analyzing M&A transactions in technology-intensive sectors. Madhav has worked as a Legal Counsel for MediaMonks, a digital content creation agency, where he has advised on issues of Intellectual Property Rights, Contract Law, and Privacy and Data Protection regulation in the Asia Pacific region.

Madhav’s areas of interest are Privacy and Data Protection, Technology and Ethics, Intellectual Property Rights, and Cybercrime Law. Madhav’s research interest lies in exploring the intersection between new and emerging technologies and their interaction with the applicable regulatory framework. His research revolves around examining the evolution of law and regulation in light of evolving socio-technological artifacts and phenomena.

Apart from Academics, Madhav loves cycling, yoga, meditation, and exploring nature.
