Lewis is a Lecturer at JGLS. He read for an LLM degree from the University of Sussex in England (2019-2020) as a Mandela Scholar. During his LLM studies he took part in the Human Rights Law Clinic, which forms part of the Sussex Centre for Human Rights Research where co-authored a comprehensive research paper for OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. He also holds an LLB degree (cum laude) from the University of South Africa (2013-2017) and is a registered Legal Practitioner in the Zimbabwean Superior Courts. Prior to undertaking his postgraduate studies, Lewis was a Professional Research Assistant to the Chief Justice of Zimbabwe. He was elevated to the Office of the Chief Justice as a researcher after having clerked a year for another judge of the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe.
