Important Notice


In the light of the decision of the Government of India to cancel the XII Board Examination (CBSE) and similar decisions taken by other Boards, O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) will admit students for the academic year 2021-22 on the basis of the performance in the relevant entrance examination. 

All students admitted to undergraduate programmes at JGU should have successfully completed their XII standard and should submit the Transcripts as and when it is provided to them by their respective Boards.

Course Information


This programme aims to nurture legal imagination among young students and build a strong foundation to study law and social sciences in the future or be absorbed into legal and allied fields. This programme will be the first ever multi-disciplinary undergraduate degree in legal studies to be launched in 2020-21 academic year.

Objectives of the Programme

  • Provide students with an understanding of the context in which legal work is performed.
  • Create the legal imagination that is needed for shaping the framework within which legal work is performed
  • Provide students with a comprehensive exposure to the Indian legal system through experiential learning by way of internships
  • Impart skills essential of the performance pre-legal and paralegal work 
  • Provide students with a sound understanding of the history and organization of legal systems from national, international and comparative perspectives
  • Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the substance of relevant laws in India
  • Familiarise students with the major legal and political discourses in India and worldwide

Credit Structure

The B.A (Hons.) Legal Studies Curriculum at JGLS consists of compulsory and elective courses of maximum one semester’s strength. The compulsory courses are designed to ensure that every student gains a sufficient grounding in the fundamental branches of the law, as well as satisfying applicable requirements for admission to practice; the elective courses provide an opportunity to develop particular interests and to deepen understanding.

O.P. Jindal Outstanding Merit Scholarships

The top five LSAT—India test scorers who enroll in the three year LLB Honours programme, five year B.A./B.B.A. LLB Honours programme, and a one year LL.M. programme will be awarded the O.P. Jindal Outstanding Merit Scholarship of Rs. 1 lakh per year. This will be based solely on their performance in the LSAT—India admission test.

Naveen Jindal Young Global Scholarships
The aim of the scholarship is to nurture, encourage and support young global leaders. One student from the five year B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme, One student from the three year LL.B. and another student from the one year LL.M. programme will be awarded this scholarship on the basis of an independent selection process. An award of one year programme fee will be given to the student of B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LLB Honours programme and for LL.M. 50% of the programme fee will be awarded to the selected student of LL.M. programme.   

Shallu Jindal Outstanding Women Scholarships
The aim of the scholarship is to nurture, encourage and support outstanding women to enter the field of law. Two students from the three year LLB Honours programme, two students from the five year B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and two students from the one year LL.M. programme will be awarded this scholarship on the basis of an independent selection process. An award of 50% of one year programme fee will be given to each student.

Studentships ranging from 10% to 75% of tuition fees are awarded on merit-cum-means basis to a substantial number of selected students as per university rules.


JGLS has entered into multiple MoUs and collaborations facilitate internships and placements for JGLS students and graduates. JGLS also has extensive ties within government, businesses, and civil society, which are used to assist in placing our students and graduates. Our  graduating students have opted for diverse careers in organizations ranging from law firms, corporates, senior counsels, think-tanks, start-ups, and public policy organizations, among others.

A large number of students also chose to pursue higher studies abroad for which many partner universities of JGLS offered generous scholarships to the students.
