Professor Dipika Jain
I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to our Clinical Legal Program on campus which works entirely on a grounded and secular framework of advancing clinical legal education across the board, in India. We are situated near the heart of Delhi which exposes us to the kaleidoscopic ideas from varied professional sections in the legal and social-development sectors. We, at our various clinics, have oriented ourselves to be a localized network of socially driven professors and students who can have a Global impact while situating us in the South Asian context.
We have different curricular and assessment policies for all our seven legal clinics. Our impetus has been to delve into the human rights and humanitarian perspectives while trying to work, on-ground on basic legal issues that are eating away our country. Our professors are one of the first clinicians who imbibe the sub-culture from various other collaborators and professors who have worked on the sub-movement about the clinical movement in South Asia and critical legal studies.
Our discourse is not theoretical centered but is bounded by the ideas of experiential methods that work both ways. We have devised our very own Clinical legal ethics that keep Jindal Global Law School at the helm of work at the Legal Clinic. Our mission is to do ground-breaking research and sensitize our students by giving them real-time opportunities to work with lawyers, activists, social workers, and the professorial staff so that they can become committed members of the larger legal fraternity across the globe.
Clinical Legal Education has come of age in India and we at Jindal Global Law School are committed to creating social working lawyers that can make systemic changes, globally.
Most of our students have gone on to become professionals in the legal and developmental arena while keeping the spirit of legal aid alive in their everyday work. We have some of the best Clinical Law Professors as a separate professorial rank which no other Law University has.
Our legal clinics are a hybrid model, like a melting pot of theoretical and practical frameworks as is our strong academic community of faculty and students.
We hope that collaborating with our clinics will make a difference for you, as a citizen, a student, or a professional in any walk of life.
We welcome you with all grace and humility, to be shared learners so that anyone who attaches themselves to our clinics, imbibes and shares the good deed forward.
