JGU celebrates India’s 78th Independence Day

JGU celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day on the University campus on August 15. The Chief Guest at the event was H.E. Mr. Juan Angulo, Ambassador of Chile to India, Concurrent to Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Professor (Dr.) Arpita Gupta, Dean, Office of Research (Projects, Grants, Publications), JGU, made introductory remarks on the occasion. Professor Dabiru Sridhar Patnaik, Registrar, JGU, delivered the welcome address. Professor R. Sudarshan, Dean, Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, spoke about the significance of the Independence Day celebrations. It was followed by an address by Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, JGU. After this, the Guest of Honour and Chief Guest made their speeches.
