Centre for Foreign Languages holds events
The Centre for Foreign Languages (CFL) of the Office of English and Foreign Languages, JGU, organised on October 7 a book launch and read-aloud competition in French in the JGU campus. The book, titled Ah!Bon! J’écris en français (Compréhension et Production Écrites) written in French by Dr. Navreeti Sharma, Assistant Professor, CFL, helps the learner to enhance their reading, writing, vocabulary, productive and comprehensive skills in the language.
On October 9, CFL organised an info-event, Ask-a-German, for students and faculty members interested in learning about Germany and its language, history, culture, society, etc. The guest speaker was Dr. Michael Stadler, a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Lecturer appointed at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He addressed a wide range of topics, providing insights into German football, Oktoberfest, the
German school system, cuisine, dialects, etc. He also spoke about the hobbies that Germans generally pursue, differences among different European countries, and notable historical facts.
