As part of creating an enabling research environment, JGU encourages faculty members to engage in consultancy assignments with other institutions, business houses and public sector organizations. The terms of engagement in a consultancy project is governed by the University’s Consultancy Policy. JGU regularly has visitors from industry and other organizations with whom faculty members discuss possibilities of research collaboration and other opportunities for joint work. Our extensive and interdisciplinary faculty expertise have also allowed us to build external relationships that have enabled us to secure funded research projects and benefit our students in the form of thesis projects with joint supervision.
The University also receives grants and funding for research and capacity building initiatives from the various ministries of the Government of India, including for the training of senior officers of the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Revenue Service, Indian Trade Service, the three branches of the Indian military, and other police and paramilitary forces. We have also been awarded grants and contracts for research and capacity building from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations University (UNU), the Afghanistan Civil Service Institute, and other governmental, intergovernmental and private sector organizations.
