A team of students from OP Jindal Global University (JGU) has won the ‘Price Media Law Moot Court Competition’ hosted by Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
The competition, which was recently hosted by Oxford University’s Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, witnessed participation of several teams, including Queen Mary University and Singapore Management University, from across the world.
According to a release issued by JGU, students of Jindal Global Law School have beaten University of Oxford in the finals to claim the title.
The competition is a global initiative of the Programme in Comparative Media Law & Policy (PCMLP) at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, according to the release.
Elated at the performance of the students of the varsity, JGU vice-chancellor C Raj Kumar said this was an extraordinary achievement for the country and also for the university.
“It is truly remarkable that JGU, which is yet to graduate its first batch of students from its five-year law programme has achieved this distinction in a record time. It reflects the passionate commitment and dedication of the students and faculty to promote excellence in higher education,” he said.
