The CPGLS offers specially designed, fully accredited, 1 year full-time LLM programme and a PhD programme with global exposure for students seeking rigorous, intensive and world class post-graduate legal education.
The Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS) is established to offer advanced and interdisciplinary teaching, learning and research opportunities in law for post-graduate students at the masters and doctoral level. CPGLS is committed to providing an intellectually stimulating academic environment with highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members committed to providing an excellent and world-class legal education. The postgraduate programmes incorporate both transnational and comparative approaches to learning and research. CPGLS also partners with national and international institutions to provide global exposure to postgraduate students. In recognition of its efforts, CPGLS, in 2014 received a letter of support from the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), The Hague, The Netherlands. CPGLS offers one year LLM programmes across various specializations.

LLM students are eligible to apply to partner universities of Jindal Global Law School for an international student exchange programme at the PG level.
The LLM programme is developed to integrate Indian and global perspectives on aspects of corporate, international trade, intellectual property rights, taxation and general legal studies and emphasizes on an international, transnational and comparative approach to research. The programme aims to equip students with skills for global research enabling them to adapt, innovate and apply their knowledge to international legal issues. The objectives of the LLM programme are based on the vision of the O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University) in imparting globalised legal education with a view to producing world class professionals, scholars, business leaders and academics in law.
The advanced degrees offered at JGLS, the LLM and the PhD programmes, are designed to represent outstanding academic achievement. The intensive curriculum provides a number of electives on contemporary topics in our international and business oriented streams. The courses and curriculum reflect the contemporary needs of a rapidly changing global legal profession. While the fulfilment of academic credits is the basis for the completion of the programme, there is also a mandatory research component which gives students an opportunity to write on topics of contemporary legal significance. To meet the requirements of our programme, the independent research paper must be of publishable quality. Students will be closely supervised and guided by a faculty member and provided with the necessary help to publish his/her independent research.
Our teaching pedagogy is based on the expectation that students pursuing an LLM degree have a strong academic background and basic understanding of their speciality area. Many of our courses are taught by leading scholars and periodically by accomplished international and domestic practitioners. We have high faculty-student ratio of 1:9 which enables us to provide a rigorous and intensive learning atmosphere for students.
