On 18 February 2020, Professor Amit Srivastava, University of Adelaide, conducted a session on “Professional Agency and Architecture in Post-Colonial India”. Professor Srivastava discussed the scope and limitations of the architect’s vocation in India seems unclear today, this is partially because of the quandaries of a profession that emerged from its origins in the yoke of colonial service but never entirely forswore a more technocratic mode of practice.
