Imagine a place which gives you full freedom to be creative, to express your desires, work collaboratively to learn all about the world of art. For me O.P. Jindal Global University is that place, a home for all my artistic aspirations.
I, Avrial Das, first year student of Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons.), Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities, O.P. Jindal Global University is delighted to share my journey of choosing the best, JGU.
Being creatively inclined, I wanted to explore a course that would give me a platform to use my interests and build on the same, through new and innovative methods. The Fine Arts course of JGU seemed to be the ideal match for what I wanted to pursue academically. While doing my research I connected with peers and online sources who had a lot of praise for the academic curriculum, faculty and other facilities that the university provides for its students. I wanted a course that would not only help me build on my skills but also give me an opportunity to work on other aspects of being a global citizen of today.
Through the course I have not only worked on my artistic skills, but also learned about important aspects of an art student like – Communication Skills, Western and South Asian Art History, Photography, Digital Media Art, as well as the study of Interdisciplinary subject matter.
Given the current world situation we all are in, the online mode of education has been a very pleasant experience so far. Online classes have been a new and great way of learning, lively discussions, readings and weekly activities have constantly been the spark that lights our creative minds every day of the week. Regular presentations and webinars with professionals in the art field are very informative and a great way to learn more about the subjects that we study in our course as well. The faculty at JGU certainly are dedicated and truly passionate about the course and its subject matter, ever willing to provide support and guidance on topics taught in class as well.
I am learning something new each day and with the carefully curated curriculum, will indeed be on the path to expanding my intellectual horizon. I cannot wait to see what’s in store for the rest of my time here at JGU!
