If My Wallet Could Speak – II – By Hedwig

This is the sixth poem in a series of poems that explore what the commonplace objects in a student’s life would say if they underwent an Enid Blyton-esque change overnight, and could speak. This one has been written in the form of a Haiku.

Fed cash once a month,

I stay full for three days or

Until friend needs tea;

Wallets never die,

Only starve until they’re thin –

I gnaw debit cards.
