- President of India to Address the Delegates of the Global Academic Summit
- Times Higher Education to Partner with the O.P. Jindal Global University
Times Higher Education (THE) in partnership with the International Institute for Higher Education Research and Capacity Building (IIHEd), O. P. Jindal Global University is organizing the “TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION BRICS & Emerging Economies Universities Summit 2015” in India for the first time. The summit is will be held during 2-4 December 2015 at the O.P. Jindal Global University Campus.
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee will be addressing the delegates of the summit at the President house on the 2nd of December.
The summit is designed around the theme “Why Emerging Economies Need World Class Universities” and will see several sessions revolving around themes like developing a culture of research excellence, the role of international collaborations in promoting global excellence.
The Russian 5-100 Group will provide the Keynote address, providing insight into Russia’s efforts to drive up the international standing of its universities.
The summit will also feature an exclusive first look at the 2016 THE BRICS & Emerging Economies Ranking results and Rankings Masterclass with Phil Baty, THE World University Rankings editor.
Speaking ahead of the conference, Mr. Phil Baty, Editor at Large, Times Higher Education Magazine and Editor of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, said, “We are extremely excited and this is a very special summit for us because what we are witnessing is the coming together of countries that are traditionally crowded out of the global rankings system. The International Institute for Higher Education Research & Capacity Building (IIHEd) of O.P. Jindal Global University has partnered with Times Higher Education for the summit. Speaking about the partnership Professor Raj Kumar said, “The International Institute for Higher Education Research & Capacity Building of O.P. Jindal Global university is excited to collaborate with THE to host this summit as it will be the first time that it comes to India.”
Phil Baty, while speaking on the event that is taking place in India for the first time said “We are eagerly looking forward to the Summit taking place in the world’s largest democracy and in a country home to the world’s largest youth populace. This conference will help ensure Indian universities are better networked with international universities and will help them make further strides towards participation in world rankings.”
