Dr. Mousumi Mukherjee is Associate Professor & Deputy Director of the International Institute for Higher Education Research and Capacity Building (IIHEd). She is Member Secretary of the Research Ethics and Review Board (RERB) and founding Executive Director of the Centre for Comparative and Global Education (CCGE) at O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University). 

She has been appointed as a Research Standing Committee member by the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES) in February 2020. Prior to this honorary appointment, she has served as a Congress Standing Committee Member of the WCCES, Founding Secretary of South Asia (SIG) and, Co-Chair of the Environmental and Sustainability Education (SIG) of the Comparative and International Education Society. She also serves as Executive Committee Member of the Indian Ocean Comparative Education Society and a life member of the Comparative Education Society of India.
