The B.A. (Hons.) Political Science at Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA) brings multiple social science perspectives to canonical questions of political science, and takes a holistic approach to a political science education that extends well beyond the classroom. We bring in practitioners’ knowledge to ground theory, incorporate domestic, regional, and global politics through our diverse global faculty, provide opportunities for experiential learning in India and abroad with the help of dedicated staff, and incorporate skills-based learning into our curriculum.
We do this through research methods focused courses, opportunities to take part in faculty collaborations with external partner organisations, study abroad and semester exchange programmes, research experience gained through working with faculty mentors and in our research centres. Courses that focus on skills and political literacy from a year-long grounding in critical reading and writing, to learning to analyse news media and political institutions through primary sources with a critical perspective in your first year, to advanced elective options for multi-methods training and independent research studies.
Progression to M.A. Diplomacy, Law and Business: B.A. (Hons.) Political Science students who graduate at the end of 3 years will have a special opportunity to progress directly to JSIA’s Masters in Diplomacy, Law and Business – M.A. (DLB) programme, subject to high meritorious academic performance. Students can also opt for a second M.A. from Queen Mary University of London, the U.K.; University of Leeds, the U.K.; or University of Warsaw, Poland.
