Biography

Syed S. Husain is a faculty at JSGP,  a fellow at Jindal India Institute and a member of Complexity Economics Applied Spirituality and Public Policy and has earned his doctorate from School of Computational and Integrative Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. His research work is focused on studies of data-driven complex systems using nonlinear dynamics, time series analyses, network science, data science, differential equations and machine learning. He has a wide range of teaching experience from the courses spanning from Complex Networks, Thinking in Systems and Epidemiology, Complex Systems, Computational Social Science/ Sociophysics, Complexity and Policy, Data Science, Thinking in Systems, Statistical Computation and Nonlinear Dynamics. His research focuses on structure and dynamics of various complex systems using real world data and the microscopic interaction resulting in various phenomena and its macro level emergence and thereby providing insights to underlying relational patterns. Prof. Husain is also extending his work in the domain of Fractional Calculus, understanding of Malliavin Calculus. He has been a member of the Italian Physical Society and is also associated with Alan Turing Group UK.

Prof. Husain is also interested in the philosophical discourses from multiple aspects including esoteric and exoteric dimension, spiritual philosophy and has a bent for applied spirituality and interconnected thoughts and traditional wisdom to employ for restorative remedies of the planet. He is developing interest in complexity and cognition and transubstantial philosophy.

At present, Dr. Husain is working on data, complexity & cities and climate change,socioeconomics/health & policy. He also has teaching experiences across diverse groups and varying disciplines to his credit.

Prior to attending Jawaharlal Nehru University, Dr. Husain had his post graduation with distinction from the Faculty of Engineering & Technology at Jamia Millia Islamia.
