Biography

Sunetra Ghatak is currently Associate Professor in the Economics at Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, O. P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana and holds a PhD in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her doctoral research work was supported by Basic Scientific Research - UGC. 

She has earlier held various research positions for fifteen years at many leading think-tanks in Delhi, including National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), Micro Insurance Academy (MIA), National Centre for Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (NCAP). She has handled project on “dynamics of state level strategic reforms of India” funded by World Bank. She has been part of doing systematic review on “factors affecting voluntary and community-based health insurance programmes in LMICs” funded by International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), and “effects of cash transfer and incentive programs on NTD-related service utilization, treatment outcomes and health and wellbeing in LMICs” funded by Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF). She has published research articles in peer-reviewed journals and edited books. She has been providing peer review support to many national and international journals. 

She is passionate about doing research on migration, gender and international trade. She teaches courses on Macroeconomics, Indian Economy and offers elective on Labour Market and Migration.
