Dr. Ankush Garg is Assistant Professor in Jindal School of Government and Public Policy. He works in the area of game theoretical application in political economy. His research interest lies in studying the how economics participants engage with institutions and how the rules of institutions can be designed to improve the social well-being. In his recent ongoing work, he studies how different institutional rules impact the voting behaviour of members of small and large groups, when they are motivated by organizational goals, biases and image concerns. He proposes policies of affirmative actions that can improve efficiency and social welfare. In another work, he studies strategic information design problem in the context of college/institution ratings.
Prior to joining JSGP, he served as Assistant Professor at PGDAV College, University of Delhi. There he taught course like Intermediate Microeconomics Theory, Public Economics, Public Finance and Economic Development and Policies in India. At JSGP, he has taught courses on Game Theory, Mathematics, Statistics and Information and Institution Design to undergraduate and post graduate students.
