Dr. Sonal Dua is an Associate Professor at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, O.P. Jindal Global University (Institution of Eminence Deemed to Be University), since 2019. She also serves as the Associate Dean for Executive and Online Education.
She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi (2019). Before joining O.P. Jindal Global University, she taught as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Hansraj College, Delhi University. She earned her M.A. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and her B.A. from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Delhi University.
Dr. Dua has been the recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including the Centre for Development Economics (CDE) Fellowship, the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Fellowship, and the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) during her doctoral studies. She was a member of the Indian delegation at the first BRICS Youth Summit, held in Russia in 2015. Her research interests span Applied Econometrics, Industrial Organization, Empirical Development Economics, Economics of Education, and Health Economics. Her current research explores unmet contraception needs, the dynamics of couple bargaining power in contraceptive use, and the impact of public schooling infrastructure on educational outcomes.
