Dr. Naveen Joseph Thomas holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and an M.Sc. in Economics from the TERI School of Advanced Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. His research interests encompass industrial policy, labour economics, household economics, and growth theory. With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Thomas currently serves as the Associate Dean for Programme Strategy and Academic Affairs at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP).
In his role as Associate Dean, he has been instrumental in shaping the B.A. (Hons) Philosophy, Politics, and Economics programme, along with minor programmes in Economics and Public Policy. His academic expertise extends to the development of online programmes, including his pivotal role in designing the M.A. in Public Policy offered through Coursera by JSGP, a programme he continues to oversee. Previously, he served as the Associate Dean for International Collaborations at JSGP.
Dr. Thomas is deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring students, having taught a wide range of courses such as mathematical methods for economics, development economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, financial economics, and international trade. Beyond academia, he also engages with the corporate sector through consultancy projects.
