Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) has been offering the 3-year Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Programme since its establishment in 2009. The programme aligns with the latest guidelines and regulations set by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission, ensuring its relevance and academic rigor.

Programme Structure

The LL.B. Curriculum at JGLS comprises compulsory and elective courses of up to one semester’s duration. The compulsory courses provide students with a solid foundation in the essential branches of law and fulfill the necessary requirements for admission to practice. The elective courses allow students to pursue their interests and deepen their understanding of specific areas of law.

Each full semester course is worth 4 credits, except for electives that may range from 1 to 4 credits. To achieve a full-time load of 40 credits per year, students must complete a minimum of 20 credits per semester. Students may request to take on a higher load, not exceeding 28 credits per semester, with the approval of the Office of Academic Affairs.

  • To be awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree, students must earn a minimum of 120 credits, distributed as follows: at least 20 compulsory courses worth 80 credits in total, 6 elective courses worth 24 credits in total, and 4 compulsory clinical courses worth 16 credits in total.
  • Moreover, students may earn credits by participating in co-curricular activities that develop their legal reasoning skills and enhance their understanding of the law. The credits earned from permissible co-curricular activities will contribute to the total of 120 credits required to obtain an LL.B. degree.

*The Tuition fee, accommodation charges and other allied service charges are subject to an annual increase of ten percent (10%).

**The security deposit will be fully refunded, subject to the completion of studies and/or receipt of a ‘No Dues Certificate’. The security deposit shall not carry any interest.
