Matthew is an Australian qualified lawyer and has worked in several fields including three years exclusively in criminal defence law in the Outback, and in boutique general practice firms including in litigation and dispute resolution. He worked for two years in the Federated States of Micronesia and is admitted to the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of the FSM.

Matthew has also worked as a Policy Officer in the International Engagement section of the Office of Asian Engagement for the Northern Territory government and is keen to facilitate connections between India and Australia.
